Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na: Audio Review

t
his movie seems to be a promising love flick with Genelia D'Souza oppositte Imraan Khan who is the nephew of Aamir Khan. the movie is produced by none other than our Aamir Khan. the movie promises more with debutant director Abbas Tyrewala penning down his exquisite lyrics joining hands with our musical wizard A.R.Rahman. the audio seems to be the best of this year with Rahman bringing some scintillating youthful tunes giving a break to his epic and historic genres. the album is a melange of jazz, pop and symphony.

the movie has six tracks, the album's first track is

1.Kabhi Kabhi Adithi Zindhagi -- Rashid Ali which has already captured so many hearts and seems to be the current buzz of the bollywood industry. the first thing that strikes on your mind listening to the song seems to be the pleasing voice of Rashid Ali. there has been phew critcs on this song for its similarity with "Adada Adada" from Bommarillu but few resources confirm that this song has been completed by Rahman two years back and when it comes to the feel of the song it seems to be far ahead and it could noway be compared. The guitar strums and flute interludes embellishes the song more. The song has all ingredients of making it a super hit. The scale transition in the middle paragraph seems to be very unpredictable having very good phrasing and tune flow. The song is right away the pick of the album. Its Rahman at his best.
My Rating (9.8/10.0)

2. Pappu C'ant Dance Salla -- Anupama, Benny Dayal, Blaazee, Tanvi, Darshana, Satish Subramanium, Aslam.

this song is straight away dedicated to the dance floors. the song seems to have humms like "kiti kiti na na" with a classical touch in it. Nothing special musically speaking, a lotta sound and audio engineering involved in it , probably an experimentation by Rahman. Blaaze gives his best with his rap & lyrics. the song is a pure classical fusion. the song's lyric plays an important part depicting a character called "Pappu" who has got everything but can't dance. the song is fast paced and soon would be heard everywhere. Ultimately a commercial song.
My Rating (9.3/10.0)

3.Jaane tu Meri Kya hai -- Runa

this is a unique composition with percussions at its best. the piano pieces seem to have traces of "Yanni' overlooked by Rahman's style.. the song is a pure melancholy with explicit singing. Runa does a great job showing her excellence bringing the exact feel. the scale transition in the middle parah seems to be odd first but then grows on u slowly and captures u. the scale transition shows Rahman's high standards and brings the reason why he is different& unique from other composers.. Altogether a superb compostion..
My Rating (9.7/10.0)

4. Nazrein Milaana -- Benny Dayal, Satish Chakravarthy, Naresh Iyer, Darshana, Shwetha, Tanvi, Bhargavi, Anupama

the song is sung by a bunch of singers. the song is energetic which has the trademark Rahman stamp in it. the song has traces of his previous track "Yuhi Chala" from Swades. the song starts with an acoustic guitar wit a country feel. the pretty orchestration of the song would capture anybody in the very first listen to carry the song along. A good song..
My Rating (9.5/10.0)

5. Tu Bolo -- A.R.Rahman

the song is one of Rahman's best compositions of his last few years.. the best ever jazz number done by an Indian composer.. the song purely has an International feel. the song is probably the theme song of the movie. the song seems to have a feel of 60's jazz. themes with same sorta feel where given by Miles Davis, Buddy Bolden, Louis Armstrong during the 60's. the songs speciality is its usage of trumpets and soft drums.. the arrangements of the song at its best adds an International flavour to it. the song has too much of knowledge & experimentation behind it and I guez the track can noway be reproduced because of its complication. Rahman has done a great job singing it elegantly. In terms of knowledge and musical appreciation I feel this is the song of the album.
My Rating (9.9/10.0)

6. Kahin to Hogi Ho -- Rashid Ali ,Vasundra Das

this song is a beautiful song made for Rashid Ali, none other than him could have rendered it better. the feel of the song is quite amazing which causes addiction. the song is soft, romantic and soothing which would make the listener to float. this would surely make Rashid Ali reach places and wud be remembered for several years to come..
My Rating (9.8/10.0)
